Known as the Palette Swap Characters mod by tabs, this allows for custom characters to be added over other character costumes. This mod was so big that itadded 19 new characters alone toUltimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3. These includedStreet Fighter 5’s Rashid, Thanos, Psylocke, and many more with adjusted movesets that reflect the custom character added. The latest update to this mod added another Capcom character, who already made an appearance inMarvel vs. Capcom: Infinite, the Monster Hunter.
This mod places the hunter of monsters over one of Taskmaster’s costumes, and is adjusted to be a completely different character. This includes replacing Taskmaster’s original music, model, and voice clips to match the new character. Much likeMonster Hunter’s gameplay inMarvel vs. Capcom: Infinite, her main form of attack is her enormous sword, which can take up much of the screen with powerful strikes. She’s also got some other moves that utilize her Bow, much like how Taskmaster uses a bow during unmodded gameplay.
The full clip from tabs shows off other custom characters that have been added, such as a new Lilith skin for Morrigan fromDarkstalkersthat utilizes a custom model. As the modding scene continues to evolve, many fans should expect to see plenty of other custom characters added to the roster ofUltimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3in the future.
