While building systems in survival games are traditionally used for bases and making life easier, veteran players take them to new heights. Since the release ofValheim, long-time players have done just that with this game’s mechanics and created some incredible builds. In the latest example of this, one player created an entire space shuttle and its launch pad inValheim.
Valheimis a survival and sandbox gamethat was developed by Iron Gate Studio and was released in February 2021. Players are dropped into a massive open world filled with enemies of increasing difficulty in a variety of biomes. The space shuttle that this creation is based off of was introduced in the United States in the 1980s and retired in 2011.

This clip comes from u/OhhhBoyyyyy, and it shows this player in the game’s free camera mode as they look at their creation. Pictured is an absolutely massive recreation of a space shuttle on its launch pad. The main structure (the shuttle, its rocket boosters, and fuel tank) is primarily made out of wood walls with the tallest point reaching over 20 of these building objects high. This whole structure rests on a massive, gated stone foundation launch pad with a winding staircase just to the left. U/OhhhBoyyyyy hoists his cup at the very top of this stairwell, which also features a path that reaches over to the entrance of the shuttle.
Aside from the quality of this creation, what sticks out is the amount of resources this player must have gathered in order to have created this space shuttle. With all of those wooden walls, the iron wood staircase, and the investment in stone foundations, u/OhhhBoyyyyy must have invested plenty of hours to create this and must havemasteredValheim’s building system.
Building tremendously large structures such as this one can be a frustrating concept because ofthe survival aspect ofValheim. Each piece of this build requires the player to chop down trees, mine for stone, or smelt ore and that time adds up. Coupling that with having to fend off base raids and roaming enemies can makeValheima frustrating prospect.
Then again, the investment that is required from players in order to create things such as this can be a boost for other players. Having to put in the time and work can make the final building much more satisfying and has helped makeValheima success thus far. Either way, thisValheimplayer created an impressive space shuttle in this post and may take their Viking to the final frontier.
