Valheimplayers can measure their progress through the game by the metals they are currently able to mine. Unfortunately, each metal ore inValheimadds a lot of weight to a player’s inventory, forcing them to be inventive when trying to move large amounts of it to their base. In the latest example of this ingenuity, one player showed off the impressive cart infrastructure they built in the Mountain biome.
Valheimis a survival and sandbox gamethat takes players to a world filled with mythical enemies. Players are tasked with working their way through different biomes and building up their armor and weaponry through collecting the best possible ores. Ores, however, cannot be teleported in the game and players need to figure out ways to work around this.

This post comes from Reddit user jimsmoments89 and it shows an impressive screenshot from their recent mining operation. In the screenshot, players will see a mixture of the Black Forest biome and the game’s Mountain biome. Stretching from the bottom right of this image all the way up to the top left is a series of stairs that work their way nearly to the top of the mountain. They have placed Log Beams or Poles as the supports for the wooden stairs and platforms that make their way up the mountain. While this may seem strange, it actually functions as a cart path for jimsmoments89 who has beenmining silver in the Mountain biome inValheim. Instead of having to move the heavy Silver ore across the challenging terrain, now they can load up a cart and walk it down this path with ease.
AnyValheimplayer who has struggled to move ore from its source to their base can understand this photo immediately. One piece of Silver ore weighs 14 units and players can only carry 300 units withoutValheim’s Megingjord upgrade. With gear and weapons taking up a good amount of that 300, those who find a good source of Silver Ore are going to struggle to get it all down to their base in a reasonable amount of trips or without their cart falling apart over the bad terrain.
As frustrating as it can be to have a weight limit, it is an important part of this survival game. Managinghow to balanceValheim’s armor setsand weapons with food and resources is all part of what makes the game function well. On top of that, it forces players to adapt and overcome these issues, leading to builds like this.
Then again, it certainly doesn’t feel as rewarding when players have to climb up and down a mountain while dodging wolves with ore on their character. Either way, this player shows off an impressive moment of ingenuity in their game.
