Valheimuser PepsiDrinker shared their latest creation on his personal YouTube channel, paying tribute to Tolkien andThe Lord of the Ringswith a recreation of Helm’s Deep. The fortress is built along the base of one of the game world’s mountains to keep it as true to the original as possible. The long wall leads to the base of the heart of the fortress, known as the Hornburg, with the long rampway leading up to its gate and the tower which houses the Horn of Helm Hammerhand.
PepsiDrinker’s creation was met positively online, with most YouTube comments praising their work. When asked about how they managed to build the tower, they said the mod Forever Build removed the game’s height restrictions that would have kept it from building it otherwise. PepsiDrinker added on another response the Hornburg was the most difficult to build due to the half-circle design.
The creation echoes of the early days ofMinecraftwhere players wildly experimented with the game’s building mechanics. Many players spent days and, in some cases, weeks building massive structures inside dedicated servers to see how far and epic the game can go. Some included Enterprise from the originalStar TrekTV series, King’s Landing fromGame of Thrones, and a NASA space shuttle ready for launch.
Lord of the Ringsis one of the most commonly pulled from properties when it comes to builders within these games, as well. The scale of the locals make them the perfect eye-catching creations in many games, with most builders using Peter Jackson’s films as references. The Gondor capital of Minas Tirith and Saruman’s Tower of Orthanc in Isengard are just two examples of vista’s created just inMinecraft. Other inventiveValheimplayers already managed to bring Middle-Earth to the Norse realm, with one buildingBilbo Baggins' Hobbit hole.
