Long-time players ofVampire Survivorshave two major complaints. One is that the game has gotten too easy. It doesn’t start this way, but after purchasing the global power-ups, unlockingall the weaponsand passive items, and collecting dozens of Golden Eggs the game’s difficulty level goes way down.

The other major complaint from players is that Golden Eggs cost too much, and their once massive gold reserves have been reduced to a few coins. The release of Version 1.0 ofVampire Survivorshas addressed these complaints by adding an Inverse Mode to the game. With this mode activated, stages are flipped vertically.

Unlocking Inverse Mode

The first step to unlocking the Inverse Mode is tounlock the Eudaimonia Machine stage. Unlocking this stage requires the player to have obtained eleven relics in the game. The necessary relics are listed below:

Fornew players, this might take a while. Once all relics have been obtained and Eudaimonia Machine is unlocked the player needs to visit this stage.

The Mysterious Entity

In Eudaimonia Machine the player willencounter the Mysterious Entity; a tree-shaped black form with hands and masked heads floating around it. Speaking to this creature will give the player two choices - Too Easy of Too Hard. The player needs topick Too Easy; this gives the player the Gracia’s Mirror relic.

After making the selection the game will send the player to the Title Screen, which will be upside-down. At this point Inverse Mode is unlocked, and when selecting a stagethe Inverse tab will be available at the bottom of the screen. The player can select an inverse stage and immediately exit to make Eudaimonia Machine available again.

Inverse Mode

While in Inverse Mode allenemies start with +200% Max Health, and gain 5% Max Health every minute, and 1% MoveSpeed every two minutes. Theplayer receives +200% Gold and +20% Luckwhile playing an inverted stage. The Torrona’s Boxpassive itemdoes a decent job of countering the increase in enemy health and speed - just remember to Banish it at level nine unless it’s needed to evolve the Victory Sword or Flames of Misspell. When combined with the Disco of Gold and Big Trouser character, the player canstart earning huge sums of goldon a run during Gold Rush periods. Granted, surviving long in Inverse Mode isn’t easy, but the rewards are worth the effort.

Themerchant sells additional itemsin the Inverse Mode;Banishes, Skips, and Rerolls can be purchased. An extra Skip option costs 100 gold, Banish costs 500, and a Reroll costs 1000. The player can alsopurchase an additional arcanafrom the Inverse merchant for 20,000 gold. Since the extra arcana is only for the current run, it is best to avoid this option. Players should save their gold to purchase Golden Eggs.
