Diablo 4’s Call of the Ancients side quest is bugged, but there’s a way to avoid running into any issues with it. While it’s not without its flaws,Diablo 4has launched as an extremely polished experience. Some bugs and glitches have been reported, but most of them are not serious and easily rectified.

Players will encounter the occasional bug while completingDiablo 4’s quests, whether that’s the main quests or the various side quests on offer.Diablo 4is absolutely stuffed with side queststo complete, and most of them will go off without a hitch. However, some of them are known to have frustrating bugs, with one such quest being the Call of the Ancients quest in the Fractured Peaks area of the world map.

Diablo 4playerswill unlock the Call of the Ancients side quest after completing some of the other side quests in the Bear Tribe Refuge. They will then be asked by Chieftain Glous to go to the Hallowed Glacier, one of the many dungeons inDiablo 4. Once players fight their way to the end of the dungeon, they will come face to face with a rather challenging boss called Cyhrach the First Born in the aptly-named Chamber of Misery.

Diablo 4 Call of the Ancients Quest Won’t Complete

Here is where the game-breaking bug rears its ugly head.IfDiablo 4players are playing in co-opand one of their partners happens to be dead when the boss is defeated, players won’t be able to complete the quest. What happens is the objective to slay Cyhrach is checked off, but the new one never pops up, and so players are unable to speak to Kravett to end the quest. The good news is thatDiablo 4players can easily avoid running into this bug as long as they make sure that none of their co-op partners are dead when Cyhrach goes down.

UnfortunateDiablo 4players that have already run into this bug will have to wait for the quest to restart and try again. In our experience, simply leaving theDiablo 4dungeonand re-entering it did not fix the bug, and even turning the game off and back on didn’t fix it either. Eventually, the quest reset to the beginning, but it’s unclear exactly how long players need to wait for that to happen.

Blizzard plans on releasing a big update forDiablo 4in the near future, but it’s unclear if a fix for this Call of the Ancients quest bug is going to be part of the package. Regardless,Diablo 4is a live service game that will be supported for quite some time to come, so one has to imagine a fix will be on the way eventually. In the meantime,Diablo 4players may want to make sure that they revive any of their downed teammates before killing any of the other bosses in the game just to be on the safe side.

Diablo 4is out now for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
