There are several kinds of fish inGenshin Impact, and Golden Koi is one of them. Travelers need 20 Golden Koi, 20 Rusty Koi, andsix Raimei Angelfishto get the new Polearm, “The Catch.” This Polearm is great for characters that rely on their Elemental Burst, and it is also the best F2P weapon forRaiden ShoguninGenshin Impact.

“The Catch” is available to purchase from Kujirai Momiji in Inazuma, along with the Refinement Materials for the weapon. Because the fish has a pretty long respawn time,Genshin Impactplayers should start fishing as soon as possible.

Just as the Arataki Itto banner is being released, players are being introduced to new weapons, characters that boost the abilities of same-element teams (the Genshin Impact community isn’t calling version 2.3 the “Geo update” for nothing), as well as a new occasional two banner system for character reruns. Nonetheless, players are also looking forward to expansion on previously introduced features, like the Fishing System, so this article will be updated to include more clarity for players looking to catch the Golden Koi.
Golden Koi Locations
Eachspecies inGenshin Impactappears at a different spotand they also have their own spawn time. Some of them appear during the day while some others appear at night; the Golden Koi can be found at any time during the day. As for Golden Koi, these are the places player will find them in. Players should also be aware that Golden Koi in any one fishing location will takethree daysto respawn, so it may be necessary to fish at more than one location.
Stormbearer Mountains
Stormbearer Mountains is the only place in Mondstadt that contains Golden Koi. The fishing spot is easily accessible.Genshin Impacttravelers simply have to walk northeast of the Teleport Waypoint. Additionally, because of its close distance to the Teleport Waypoint, this is also one of the quickest spots to get to for players looking to catch Golden Koi as soon as possible.
West of Wangshu Inn
Liyue has the most spots for Golden Koi. The first one is located west of Wangshu Inn. Players can either glide from the inn or use the Teleport Waypoint northwest of the angling location.
West of Mingyun Village
The next Golden Koi spot in Liyue is near the broken bridge that connects Guili Plains and Mingyun Village. There are some Hilichurls nearby, so players might have to defeat them first before they can enjoy their fishing time.
Luhua Pool
To access the last Golden Koi spot in Liyue, Travelers can teleport to the domain in Luhua Pool. If a character steps on the Pressure Plate in front of the domain, a wind current will appear. This can be used to escape the hole by gliding instead of climbing.
Seirai Island
The last spot for Golden Koi is available in Inazuma. Just like Mondstadt, Inazuma also has one location for Golden Koi. People can use the Statue of the Seven in Seirai Island to quickly reach the place.
It’s important to remember thatGolden Koi will only eat the Fake Fly Bait, so players have to craft them before each fishing trip. If they don’t have the recipe to craft the Fake Fly Bait, then they have tobuy the blueprint from Nantuckfirst. To make Fake Fly Bait,Genshin Impactplayers will needSakura BloomandHorsetail, which can be found around Inazuma and in Dihua Marsh, respectively. This type of bait is also used to catch Pufferfish.
All the angling spots, except for the one in Stormbearer Mountains, also feature the Rusty Koi. So Travelers can fish the two species at once. Both Golden Koi and Rusty Koi are needed to unlock the Catch polearm. Also, like other fish caught in the fishing system, both can be used ornamentally in the Serenitea Pot or processed for fish meat.
Rusty Koi can be caught with Golden Koi in the Wangshu Inn, Mingyun Village, Luhua Pool, and Seirai Island fishing spots. Additionally, it can be caught in the Cider Lake near the Whispering Woods, thoughGenshin Impactplayers should be aware that Golden Koi cannot be caught in this spot.
Fishing is a new mechanic introduced inGenshin Impact2.1. The new addition was welcomed by the fans of the popular game. However, fans should keep in mind thatthey need to be at least Adventure Rank 28 to be able to enjoy the new feature.
