Gunplay is at the heart ofWitchfire, and this FPS roguelike definitely delivers when it comes to the overall look and feel of its weapons. Every gun feels unique, and they each have special playstyles and niches to fill.

Theearly access version ofWitchfirefeatures seven guns spread across three categories. While they may seem plain at first, players can unlock their more interesting features once they spend more time learning how to progress in the game. If you’re wondering what guns the game has to offer, here are short overviews of each.

Mirror to the Workshop in Witchfire

How To Unlock Weapons In Witchfire

Before everything else, players need to learn how to get new guns first. To unlock new weapons, you’ll need to interact with the Workshop vendor in the Hermitorium. Go to the church and interact big, floating mirror. This will open up a menu where you can spend gold to research new guns, spells, and trinkets. Here, you can also unlock Mysteria Incantations, which are used toimprove weapons inWitchfire.

Once you start researching a new weapon, you’ll need to spend time running through the island before they become available. You can spend gold to make the research process faster, but consider your options carefully, as money is hard to come by.

Cricket in Witchfire

All Witchfire Weapons

Cricket - Close Range

The Cricket is a fully-automatic machine pistol with limited range, low damage per shot, but a high rate of fire. It’s a skirmisher’s weapon designed for quickly burning down one target with its entire clip.

When upgraded, the Cricket will generate extra Witchfire with every killed. Respectively, its second and third Mysteria automatically reloads the gun and increases its damage output when you dash after killing an enemy.

Echo in Witchfire

Echo - Close Range

Like the Cricket, Echo excels at close quarters. It’s a shotgun that deals immense damage with each blast, but its range is even more limited. Also, aiming and shooting this weapon costs stamina, so it’s best to treat it as a secondary weapon. If used well, this shotgun may just be the best weapon forbeatingWitchfirequickly.

Upgrading Echo causes its pellets to explode after a short delay, dealing even more damage. Further upgrades cause lethal pellet explosions to ignite nearby enemies, and sliding with the weapon equipped reloads to shells to the magazine and temporarily doubles the damage it deals.

Hunger in Witchfire

Hunger - Medium Range

Hunger is a six-shooter revolver that boasts decent damage per shot with a high critical damage multiplier. While it can be spam-fired, it is best used as a precision weapon so players can get the most damage out of its small clip size.

The upgrades for Hunger further emphasize the gun’s precision. Scoring critical hits with this weapon will add Charged Bullets that deal bonus damage to the next clip you load. If all shots in a clip are critical hits, the first bullet in your next clip will freeze your target.

The Midas rifle in Witchfire

Midas - Medium Range

This assault boasts a high rate of fire and a large clip, making it great forleveling up quicklyas it can deal with crowds and burn down high-health targets. It has a Heat mechanic that lets it deal more damage while the gun is Heated, but less damage when it is Overheating.

After unlocking its second and third Mysteria, Midas' bullets will apply Burn to enemies if it is overheating. The weapon will also reload significantly faster when the heat gauge is full.

The All-Seeing Eye in Witchfire

All-Seeing Eye - Long Range

The All-Seeing Eye is a bolt-action rifle meant for firing quick and accurate shots. Its first Mysterium grants it increased damage to enemies over 75% health — this is enough to one-shot weaker enemies like Husks and Husk Archers if you manage to hit headshots.

The gun’s other upgrades further improve its power when scoring critical hits. The second Mysterium causes shockwaves to erupt from targets after a critical hit, while the third Mysterium causes crits to apply Decay if their damage is boosted.

The Hailstorm rifle in Witchfire

Hailstorm - Long Range

Hailstorm is a scoped bolt-action rifle that features even more damage than the All-Seeing Eye, at the expense of being harder to wield. It has the highest range of all weapons so far at 67.5m while aiming down sights. For the unaware, guns inWitchfireare similar toweapons inDestiny 2— aiming down will increase the effective range of a gun.

Upgrading Hailstorm makes the gun refill two bullets to its magazine after every three consecutive critical hits. Its second Mysterium grants it a significant boost to handling, flinch resistance, and aim assist while also decreasing its zoom level after hitting consecutive crits. Meanwhile, the third Mysterium makes every third consecutive crit with Hailstorm to cause a freezing shockwave to erupt from its target.

The Vulture in Witchfire

Vulture Crossbow - Demonic Weapon

Unlike the rest of the arsenal, the Vulture is a demonic weapon. It fires a possessed bolt that seeks targets and deals massive damage. Think of it as a special weapon for when you really need a horde of enemies dead.

As of writing, the Vulture doesn’t have any upgrades. Still, it’s strong enough on it’s own, and giving this insatiable crossbow any more power might cause balance issues.

The Hypnosis rifle in Witchfire

Witchfire Ghost Galleon Update - New Weapons
