World of Warcrafthas been gearing up to launch Patch 9.2.5, which will likely be the last content patch before the pre-patch event forDragonflight. After weeks of waiting and speculation,World of Warcrafthas finally given a release date for the highly-anticipated patch.
Patch 9.2.5 has been live on theWorld of WarcraftPublic Test Realm for some time now. After a release candidate build went live a few days before the official announcement,World of Warcraftfinally established May 31st as the release date for the content patch.

This patch isbringing cross-faction play toWorld of Warcraft. Players have been beggingWorld of Warcraftto let them play across the faction line for years now. Though it announced cross-faction dungeons, raids, and PvP was coming back in January, the function itself finally has a release date for retailWoW.
ShadowlandsPatch 9.2.5 is also adding a new Heritage Armor questlinefor Blood Elf and Dark Iron Dwarf players. These questlines will delve into what the respective factions have been up to, and will involve key leaders of the respective groups, offering special racial armor and mounts in the process. However, the Public Test Realm also has a large amount of encrypted content in it, including a questline involving Calia Menethil. Many fans believe this means other player races could be getting Heritage Armor or faction questlines as well–possibly even the long-awaited customization options for Dark Rangers.
ManyWorld of Warcraftfans can’t wait to dive into this new patch to see what it has available for them. It has been just over three months sinceWoWlaunchedEternity’s End, Patch 9.2, so players have been eagerly awaiting new content in the game. The inclusion ofcross-faction content in the game is a historic addition toWorld of Warcraft, and while plenty of players are excited about the two known Heritage Armor questlines, they can’t wait to see what other secretsWorld of Warcraftis hiding within the patch.
However, not everyWorld of Warcraftplayer is charmed by what Patch 9.2.5 has to offer. Blizzard has been in hot water over the last few years because of the ongoing controversies with its harassment and discrimination lawsuits and unpopular decisions within its games.World of Warcraftwill have to deliver with high marks with Patch 9.2.5, as well asDragonflightand what comes beyondif it is going to rebuild its reputation with its fans.
