Xbox programming director Larry Hryb, a.k.a.Major Nelson, shared the news on his blog on Friday afternoon. All three games are discounted on the Microsoft Store for the weekend in case fans want to dive deeper after the end of the trial period.

The Elder Scrolls Online: Tamriel Unlimitedbrings multiplayer action to Bethesda’s classic fantasy realm, growing in scale since its 2015 debut to include locales from the franchise’s history likeSummerset Isleand Morrowind. The most recent expansion, Wolfhunter, lives up to its name with two dungeons full of lycanthropic beasts. The MMORPG is available to play for free and discounted by 50% on the Microsoft Store until Wednesday, November 13th at 7:00 a.m. PST. As an added bonus, new players get 500 Crowns, an in-game currency for equipment or additional content, just for downloading.
Cities: Skylines,meanwhile, is designed tobring out everyone’s inner urban planner, bringing construction and city planning gameplay into the modern age. After the middling reception to EA’s lastSimCitytitle, this simulation game was a breath of fresh air. Developers Colossal Order and publisher Paradox Interactive have only added more to enjoy since the game released in 2015, with plenty of expansions and add-ons for new building types and in-game events. All downloads of the Xbox One edition come with the After Dark expansion during the Free Play Days promotion, which lasts until Sunday, November 10th at 11:59 p.m. PST.
Rounding out the trio,The Surgecombines a hard sci-fi aesthetic and setting with the punishing difficulty and tactical combat of games likeDark SoulsandBloodborneinto a single, action-focused package. Made by Deck13 Interactive and published by Focus Home Interactive, it brings its own spin on the style with gameplay that allows players to sever and salvage robotic parts from foes to augment their own gear. The game’s sequel,The Surge 2, just released in September.
