It features updated graphics thanks to RGG Studio’s Dragon Engine, new background music, as well as otherchanges to the originalVirtua Fighter 5. The game seems to shaking things up as well, thanks to a brand-new DLC pack based on theYakuzaseries.
This collaboration makes a lot of sense considering that one of the RGG Studio is behind the open worldYakuzagames. This is doubly so when the Dragon Engine has been used in all of the latest games starting withYakuza 6and is also the one that is running this newestVirtua Fighterentry. As such, a new trailer was uploaded to Sega’s YouTube channel showing off the contents of thisYakuzaSeries Collaboration Pack.

The trailer shows off costumes based on some of themost iconic characters of theYakuzafranchise, with many of them given to a character in the roster with a matching fighting style or appearance. For example, there is an Ichiban Kasuga costume given to for Brad Burns, who both wear read coats, or a Taiga Saejima costume for Wolf Hawkfield, since both characters are heavy hitting gentle giants. This extends to the protagonist and mascot ofVirtua Fighter, Akira Yuki, appropriately getting a costume based on the face of theYakuzaseries, Kiryu Kazuma.
Alongside these 19Yakuzacharactercostumes, 20 select tracks from the series will be available to used as background music during battle, including the series motif Receive You, Outlaw’s Lullaby, and others. Not only that, but another 20 re-arranged tracks fromVirtua Fighter 3will be added to the DLC pack too.
Other popular customizable cosmetics from pastVirtua Fightergameswill be included, such as interchangeable hair or hat items for various characters in the game. This DLC pack is boasting around 650 of these items being added to the game. Not only that, a stamp pack will also be included with this DLC, which can be used while fans are spectating during matches. These stamps can be sent during the match to react or hype up certain events taking place. The pack will be available for download on December 8th.
